Yeah Jake I didnt have any 1inch tubing so I used some 1inch solid stock. Turned down the ends to fit inside of original tubing. The cross bracing you see on the plunger section is temporary to hold the 2 sections parallel whilst I weld them back on. I hope this works for you....

used my mill with a fly cutter to remove the weld and flatten the surface.

Its not that hard to take the carbs off and clean em. I would definately start there if your having carburation problems. Take out your jets and spray em out make sure there not clogged. Here is a link

Plus once you have em off and in pieces then you can see if you need to rebuild em if the parts are all fubar.

So whats your cb doing exactly? How is it running? Fill me in. Im still working on mine. Just took the carbs off and cleaned em and adjusted my floats. One thing after another! Hit me up Im curious to find out!
