Lutz (no saint)

the speedster: part3 ---monkey business-----

Ladies and gentleman-
here is the verdict of the jury: the motor is rubbish.

No happy end so far. The motor is Anna Kurnikova, as they say in poker speech: looking good from the outside, but worthless.

Well: it was running, but it sounded and looked so suspicious that it had to be opend. And what has been found was very frustrating. Cracks in the cases are welded with a very poor job. So everything is out of alignment. Even the flywheel.
Cylinder jugs are tubed and honed, but poorley too, the rear one is not even matching the size of piston. And many, many more defects.

I forswear to tell my thoughts about this motherfucker who insulted and cheated me.

That all makes this build a real cliffhanger story. As you know it has been postponed several times for some reasons and now we are stopped again. I dont have the money these days to pay for a rebuild right away.
My first intention was to cancel everything and to let this pile of junk rust in peace. But now I made up my mind.
Iam going to sell all the other basketcases and parts sitting in my store. And I will spend this for the speedster.

Plan is to complete of another ironhead motor I have. It is a 1962, cases and flywheel are perfect and a good base to start from.
My problem is that I dont have the skills to rebuild a motor completly myselfs and Johnny is much too busy to do this additional work. He has 8 projects going for full paying clients.

This brings up a new player to the team. My friend Peter ( c/n member pitstop) will build this engine, and he is the very best man you can find for this. He has lots of experience and his work is highly reputated.
Iam happy that he is taking care.
Now I know that this project will come to a good end,....someday.

Please look out for my sales offers. Maybe there is something you need or want. There will be a BSA frame from the early 50th, hard tail. A unfinished project 650 BSA A10 from about 53, chopped in the 70th. Ironhead parts. Jugs, heads, flywheels, oilpumps, few gas tanks, seats and small parts. Complete top kit of a evo sporty 883, and so on.

Sorry no pic's today. Iwill keep you posted.

Hey, too bad Lutz.

But it sounds like you got it worked out. On the bright side, you'll have one heck of a story to tell when it's done. I think the bike will be rock solid with a totally rebuilt engine as well.

If you put up a sales page with your stuff, send me a link and I'll spread the word.
