Custom motorcycles, hot rods, skate, art, music, movies, whatever...

April 13

Here we go again! This time its a 72 TR6RV Finally going for the OIF hardtail from david bird of course. keeping it bare boned. Joe Hunt, spool front, shaved legs, no battery, minimal everything. Color Scheme Black & White. 21 front 16 out back.

April 16

Bench tested the Joe Hunt and everything works! Broke down the front wheel to get the spool hub out.

April 19

Broke down the rear wheel removing the old Conical hub.

April 22

Well the Bird hard tail came in and looks great. Also got all the stuff to get the motor back together. Now just need to get out in the garage with a few hours and finish cleaning parts!

April 23

Cleaned the crank out and found it was completely blocked! That will lock a bike up for sure. Got the crank built and rods back on with new standard size big end bearings.

April 24

Got alot done today! Cases back together and cam gears and oil pump back on. I also moletsed the frame and mocked up for the David Bird hardtail!

April 30

Dropped my parts off to the polisher

May 2

Picked up my polished parts and man do they look good! you can see them in my photos.

May 3

Put in about 6 hours in the garage working on the motor, tacked the hardtail, shaved a bracket, and worked on the fork tubes.

August 5

Been a while since updates so now we have her in a roller with hardtail on. Wheels are trued and mounted. Motor done! Only things left are welding rear motor mount Sand blast, Powder Coat and Paint. My plan is to have it ready for Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival. I will be very busy with other things in the weeks ahead but if i did my math right i will have 5 work weeks to get her done!

It's yer ride, and I am NOT tryin to tell you how to build it , BUT, 9always a BUT. I will walk with a limp for the rest of my life, becuase of not having a front brake back in the 70's , for the gain in "looks" no front brake is Not worth it... If I had had that brake, I could have stopped!

just my Opinion!
