My Motorcycles - Status Report no 2.

The new year began with a serious garagesession.

I decided to make a mock-up with an original Husqvarna 1950 web springer fork on my Husqvarna Chopper. As I removed the chopper fork it turned out that it wasnt elongated the estimated 10cm/4", but a whopping 20cm/8" !!!!
Just look at this comparison !

Then I put the original fork on it and did a mock-up with the stuff thats gonna go on this now Bobber in the future, except for the sissybar and one of the mirrors.
It turned out like this...

Then I started to tear it apart.

After the front was stripped we did a mock-up with the bigger tank I got from Kalle for Christmas. It turned out like this...

Thats our garagewizard Johnny holding the fork in place.
I liked this look so much better that I just now has won an online auction for an original Husqvarna 1950 tank. Thats gonna be slightly lower than this mock-up tank, and also fill up the void in the frame above the motor a lot. Much cooler and massive looking.

Johnny then helped me remove the motor.
Its not big but its a beauty!

I just luuurrrve those small 125cc two stroke engines !
Like lil nuggets or gems.

Then I swapped the original seat springs to springer fork springs for Lowrider bicycles. Im such a big fella that when I get on the bike the seat just slams down on the back fender compressing the original springs completely.
The bicycle fork springs are three wraps higher and more massive so the seat winds up looking like this...

Should be very comfy.

Then we finished up by disassembling the rest...

Done for the day.

Yesterday my good friend The Oddball
www.myspace.com/comorbiditet
came up from Gothenburg with the motorcycle I traded from him for the last Red Baron Skateboards Bomber Model in existance.
The bike is Swedish and a Nyman Verken (Newman Werks) from 1954.
This model was the "Sports"-model and came with aluminum rims and spokes and a sports seat.
Now when I got it delivered to our club garage I realised that its a lot bigger than I expected !!
So there should be no problem to put a 500cc Triumph or BSA motor in there and the frame will handle it just fine.
That means that this will not become the rusty dirttrack bike I planned.
Instead this baby will go to the sandblasters and then be my next big project.
So there wont be a third bike project to get me up to the bigger cc..s.
No, this will be my major Chopper project for next autumn.
But it doesnt look like much right now...

...but I dont care. I love her anyway!
