Custom motorcycles, hot rods, skate, art, music, movies, whatever...

Any reports on Hollister ? I had an afternoon ride through the east bay hills planned but shot down in the morning for breakfast and check it out. Granted I was down early but..... In years past the street was filling up early. By noon it would be a parking lot, down both sides and the middle. There just didn't seem to be many people. I went into Bolado Park and saw the vendors set up at the county fair grounds. Also saw two camps. But again it didn't look like many people. I didn't count, but it really looked like less campers and bikes than were at the Bash. I suppose there might have been more, it was just a disappointment. There was a pancake breakfast in Hollister and a "Biker Breakfast" in Tres Pinos. (near Bolado Park) There were Boozefighters at the breakfast in Tres Pinos so that's where I ate. After Breakfast I went on into Hollister and like I said there just were not many bikes on the street. Given the fact that this was not city sanctioned, parking was going to have to be legal. So I would have expected an early showing of bikes. The block in front of Johnny's had bikes but that was it. Even the pancake breakfast seemed dead. I left town around 10-10:30 and did see a few packs of bikes on the road so I don't know how the rest of the day went. I noted some CHP out on the road but nothing like I remember from the past. In fact I got pulled over and can say it was not a bad experience. The officer was nice. I was half expecting to get the run around about registration and insurance, drivers license, the once over of the bike for any fix it items. NONE of the above. He asked me if I knew the speed limit. I said "I believed it was 55." He said, "no it changes real fast back there to 35." Some more minor chat and a good bye. I couldn't believe it.

I only made it to Bolado Park on Saturday afternoon. A few booths set up but it was really small. no bikes to look at except in the parking lot. It was a perfect day for a ride though!
