I learned to ride dirt and mini bikes as a kid. My dad was a inventive genius and was always building go-karts, motorbikes and such. He made us half a dozen go-karts, a home built three wheeler before Honda ever conceived the idea, a car made out of a Cougar, a VW and a Mustang (the Coomustwagon), and numerous hot rod lawn mowers, etc. I have run with "bikers" since I was a teen, but never felt the "need" to own my own bike.
