Pre heat frame weld..... or anneal after?

Which is the best treatment when i weld my frame(Or is it O.K.without either).Bearing in mind its a stock japanese(cx 500)frame.Are they mild steel? or a more fancy type of steel?.

Yeh, what Toxic Eric said, Its no problem to weld on a jap bike frame, except the aluminum ones.....Roach.

Weld it. You can't anneal steel. Preheating is not necassary either. Depends on what you are welding, but if you are doing anything around the neck it is a good idea to put it in some sort of fixture before doing so to avoid "pulling"…
