Any chance you guys could whip up a event poster for the art gallery deal? I reposted on facebook and on the blog but would like to also add it to the events side bar. Just to keep it in peoples minds. Things get sent down the page fast sometimes. I must post too much or something. Haha.

The Hansen Dam Ride

If you have never done the Hansen Dam All-British Ride, do not miss it the next time it comes around. All bikes are welcomed. This was the 30th annual and the 20th year of Norton Club sponsorship. I've always wanted to do this ride and thanks to Earl for reminding me about it, I did just that this past weekend.

The event started bright and early in the parking lot of the Hansen Dam Recreation Center. There were a sea of vintage iron and their riders pensively waiting to attack the hundred mile long route nestled in the canyons of the Los Angeles Forest. The ride started at 10am, but not everyone left at the same time. People left in different sized groups. Earl and I waited by the entrance until we saw a pack we wanted to tag along with. Once we were in the canyons, everyone started going at their own pace as we began to spread out nicely. Every bit of the ride was memorable right down to the well balanced smells of horses and burnt oil. Every now and then we stopped for a breather and checked our map to see if we were heading in the right direction. Four hours later we finally made it back to the parking lot and earned ourselves a pin for doing the ride.

Thanks Earl for showing me a good time! - Scott
