Snow Sucks ... or I need some winter hobbies...

Sunday took the Bonneville out to shake it down so I could ride it to Moto Monday. I left it idling too long and ran the battery down. Charged it, or tried to, or so I thought. Monday at 3 it was not going to turn over. No big hills near by to get going down... Drove to Moto Monday. Bit of a disappointment to say to least. Then, this morning I get up and everything is buried under 4 inches of snow with more coming down. And I was seriously thinking about getting a bike running. It has been…See More

Slab City Riot depression....

Posted on November 13, 2009 at 6:54pm 2 Comments

My condition has worsened.... I am having some sort of Slab City Riot induced dejection... I had a plan to get there, even though it was a lot of riding. I almost had the little woman convinced, but then we swapped kid days and now we have the kids this weekend. We swapped kid days to pick up a bike that we never picked up. How sad is that? Two measures of dejection....

I'm afraid to see the reports out of SCR because I know I wont be able to deal with the disappointment. Standing… Continue

I said, 'Hey little mama,

Let's sit down

Have a drink and dig the band'

She said, 'Drink, drink, drink

Oh, fiddle-de-dink

I can dance with a drink in my hand'

She said 'Hey Bossa nova, baby

Keep on workin' for

This ain't no time to drink'

She said 'Go, Bossa nova, baby

Keep on dancin'

'Cause I ain't got time to think'

Winter long enough?

Posted on November 3, 2009 at 2:22pm 0 Comments

There is never enough time... or are there just too many projects?

I'm finally getting to where I want to be. Struggling with too much stuff and too little space (who isn't?). But I'm wondering if my 'priorities' might be too ambitious...

Stampede

First, I REALLY want to ride the stampede. I haven't had an appropriate bike yet and this year was the year I planned to have that horse in my stable. Unfortunately, it's there, but there is a lot of work ahead. So I'm… Continue

Buying local

Posted on October 25, 2009 at 11:04am 1 Comment

All of my life, I've tried to buy local and prefer helping out the little guy over the chains and conglomerates. My old man taught me that. A little loyalty to the community goes a long way. I was reading someone's blog recently. Wish I could remember whose it was. They made the point that expectations of people buying local didn't give license to the shopkeepers to ignore the needs and requests of the customers. In other words, loyalty goes both ways.

I accidentally stumbled on to a… Continue
