"Sounds like the battery!   When you fully charge the bat, start it, then see what the out put is with a volt meater, 12.5 off, 13.5 running, if it does that then your bat is about dead.....Roach."

Sportster Rectifier, or Stator???

Just been out for a good run today.Stopped off to test ride the new "48". Great bike. Would be even better if it had a carb, and not so much electrics on board.Back to the problem.Ended up 75 mile from home. Stopped for a coffee, and a bite to eat. Back to a cold engine. Hit the starter, and just clicking. Tried to bump start, but no hills to help out. Breakdown guy turns up. Tell him that I think the rectifier has gone south. Boosted the battery, and it spins to life, no problem. Ran home with…See More

"Sorry I haven't used flexible hoses on a Harley, but I've used them on other bikes, and for industrial jobs. They are great in any area where you get movement or vibration, so I would say as long as the fittings are good quality then they…"

Shovithead replied to Paul Bell's discussion Hand or Foot Clutch in the group Sporty Riders
"Done a few foot clutches for the early sportsters,  but only for my few customers who want that early look.  It is a lot easier to do the later 1000 cc bikes, since the cable goes in on the left.  Did a early 900, with the clutch…"

"Looks like the best of both worlds. Still keeping the clutch control on the bars. Do you have any other photos of the bike? Looks good from this view."

Hand or Foot Clutch

After reading through the comment on Hardtail versus Shocks, I thought some of you would have some good comments on the type of clutch, and what it takes to convert over. I personally prefer the look of a foot clutch with a jockey shift, but havent converted mine yet. Same old excuse. I would rather ride, that take it off the road to chop up. It will get done eventually.

for sure paul pop in anytime ,i think the transfer shaft is the way to go i reckon offsetting the engine is a bit of a cop out ,plus the shaft fills that space in nice thats why i made it so chunky dont think it would really need to be so heavy duty but i like the look , when are you thinking of doing yours then ??
