I am 53 years old, yes a real old timer! Although I never visited Kaohsiung when I lived in Taiwan I was aware of the city and recognized the name from my young days. Is Kaohsiung the major port city of Taiwan? My father was in the US Air Force and at the time there were many American people living in Taiwan. This was during the Vietnam war and many American soldiers came to Taiwan on vacation from Vietnam. I loved living in your country and I loved the people of Taiwan, although I did not learn to speak Chinese. I would love to be able to visit Taiwan again but I think that is not going to be possible due to the cost of travel. Thank you very much for your invitation. If I find a sack of gold or diamonds I will take you up on it!
