By 1913 newspapers across the country were reporting on spectacular crashes that took the lives of riders/spectators. Notice that there is still no safety fence in place. Tough crowd.

The safety fencing actually never worked well,...the best safety feature was when then added boards up higher so the racer could ride the high boards and come back down,by the time this was figured out motordrome's were already on the way out,....great pic's!
