I have several projects in the works but currently I'm giving my latest built Kwak chopper a face lift. Found a bitchen nylon tank on Ebay for a great deal and just had to have it. Well it won't fit without major frame surgery. SO I' redoing the gooseneck and mounting the new tank and while I'm at it I'm going to change the rear fender and add some lower bars to the rear section of the frame to try to streamline it out a bit more. I'm also considering putting an old 70's quarter fairing a friend of mine gave me that's in decent shape. It's also going to get a custom made seat that fits better, then it all gets painted the blackest black I can find and turned over to Mitch for leafwork and striping. So I started a blog and will be updating my progress there. What are you all doing? By the way, does anybody know what primer I should use on this nylon tank, what about filler?
Well, turns out I lowered the neck on my frame so far that I can't make my stock front end short enough. I thought about cutting down the sliders and rewelding the seals back on, then cutting down the legs....what a lot of work that will be. So....
I've decided to build a short ass girder for it. I have a tree set up I for from Pomona like 8 yeras ago and I picked up some legs last month at Long Beach. I will be putting those pieces together and shortening the legs to the needed dimension. I knew thos part would come in handy.
also here's a link to my PB account with pics of the bike with 8 different fenders. Maybe you guys can help me decide what fender arrangment I should use. Jeeeesh, I should have been on one of my Sporty project by now. This is the third go round for this thing in as many years....LINK http://s129.photobucket.com/albums/p238/kevinhogpics/
