Erik. I'm in Arlington, WA. I'm just about to start learning to pinstripe, I have fooled around a little with painting stuff, little things like the back of my jacket, a checkered stripe on a helmet, and "GFY" on my bike fender. Nothing that you could call pinstriping, but enough to make me want to learn how to do it for real.
If you ever have any question just let me know..... It helps you learn if you get some half decent advice. Good luck and practice.....it comes in waves
Hey. JC in Tulsa, OK.

No years of pinstriping... just a huge fan. Just had my tank and fender striped by Scorch and now I'm looking to start pulling a little myself. Any recommendations on brushes, techniques, etc.?
I have only been doing it for about a month, but it is awesome, you will be glad you started. I guess my advice would have to be limited to hang in there and practice. Th efirst time I held my brush and tried to make a line, I thought there was no way I could learn...I have already seen a difference with maybe 8-10 hours of practice...I got two little cans of One Shot, a Mack Series 10 OO brush, some mineral spirits, some neatsfoot oil and a piece of glass to paint on (you can wipe it off over and over). Also check out the comments and the pinstriping thread in the "Arts" forum here, theres some really cool links.
Thanks bro. That will get me started.
