I've always been told that if you leave the motor/electrics in your frame while welding you will fry the electrics.

Is this true? Any short cuts or pre-cautions to take when welding simple tabs in place?

Thanks.

Just as long as your ground is right next to your welld, your fine, but what they say is a precausion and should be done.

What Roach said...plus, disconnect the battery and remove it from the bike. It also pays to unplug the wiring to any electronics such as regulator/rectifiers, ignition modules etc. Have fun.
yes you could fry the elec. out. same also applies to cars, trucks etc.. the big thing is you need to remove the cables to the battery. without the ground attached there wont be a route to you elec. from the welder.
main thing is that you release the negative cable from your battery after that you should be save
