Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on Thunder Jets. I run a 93" S&S shovel with a super E, which has an annoying cough in the mid-range. I'm wondering if a T Jet will cure this?
Cheers

Are you drag racing the bike??? if not, the Tjet is not your fix, sounds like you are running to small a Idle jet, first you have to make some mods to the carb for it to work right, the airbleed screw needs to be cut down on the knerle, leave about 1/4" and re cut in the slots for the screwdriver, then dile out the accel pump and look at the shoe that tuches the rod, move the shoe with a small screwdriver and see how much the rod moves up with the shoe, thats how much you have to grind off, take small cuts, when you can move the shoe and the rod just tuches but dosnt move with the shoe, then you can dile it in and jet the low end proper..........And the airbleed screw should be turnd out about 1 1/2-1 1/4 turns, no more, no less.......................Roach.
Thanks for the reply Roach. Two questions... You're saying cut the top, say 1/8", off the air mixture screw and re-cut the screw driver slots? Is it the intermediate jet you're saying needs to go up in size?
Jerry
Yep, with the fals signal from the accle pump, the Idle jet was to lean, hence the gap inbetween it and the main jet, common mistake, with the air bleed screw top cut down, atraks less vibraition and wont wease the hole it is in so you wont have air leaks there.......................Roach.
Thanks Roach. Not a big fan of the accel pump anyway, i'm now running with it fully off as this gives the smoothest throttle roll on. Prob is I could mask the lean spot when the pump was (around 1 1/4 turns) on, by backing off slightly when she started to hesitate and then rolling on again (with a squirt from the pump) thru the flat spot - not the answer tho! I'm running a 0.0295 int jet and have tried a 0.031, which was way rich - causing v blubberly throttle, but... that was back when I was running with the pump on. Will now try a 0.031 with the pump off. Will also have a chew over the mods you recommend. Cheers, Jerry
No prob man, glad I could help....................Roach.
