Any advice on re joining a snapped throttle cable?

solder? welder?

Tried the welder, it seems to be too strong.

Hello Bro, welcome to choppertown!!

If you cant replace it your only hope is an oxy-accet. torch and silver solder.

Silver solder, Thanks Rob! I'll give it a shot.

Colt, please replace it!!! Don't skimp on anything when it comes to "controls" on your bike. I'm not a big war story guy but I have to share this one with you. I lost my best friend "Jethro" in April 1987 (almost 25 years ago) because of a throttle cable. He repaired one and it got stuck wide open. He apparently didn't want to hit the clutch and risk blowing the engine so he bent over to shut the key off under the seat (old Harley FX), when he looked up it was too late and he hit a telephone pole. This dude was the most righteous guy to ever build and ride bikes, I miss him dearly and am still pissed at him cause he should have known better. Would you trust a ripcord you repaired if you were parachuting out of a plane? Same shit Bro.....sorry if I'm sounding preachy, I'm just passionate about this subject and I don't want you going down the same road.

Right on man, thanks for the word. your right! I'll probably never fix one and just get a new one like you said. if something happend, it wouldn't be worth my life for a 20$ cable.

Colt.

Thanks Bro, I know Jethro's looking down smiling!!!
