Which is the best treatment when i weld my frame(Or is it O.K.without either).Bearing in mind its a stock japanese(cx 500)frame.Are they mild steel? or a more fancy type of steel?.

Weld it. You can't anneal steel. Preheating is not necassary either. Depends on what you are welding, but if you are doing anything around the neck it is a good idea to put it in some sort of fixture before doing so to avoid "pulling" of the welded area. The fixture doesn't have to be fancy. Just something to hold all the mounting points in a secure position during welding. If you do weld the neck or anything structural, heating the area AFTER welding is not a bad idea in order to "normalize" the area, but DO NOT do that without putting it in a fixture prior to welding or your frame will warp horribly. Make sure to use a heat stick to heat it properly or you can brittle the area and make it weaker than it was to begin with.

Yeh, what Toxic Eric said, Its no problem to weld on a jap bike frame, except the aluminum ones.....Roach.
