Choppertown Nation - Online Community for Backyard Builders

Custom motorcycles, hot rods, skate, art, music, movies, whatever...

I am proud owner of suzuki marauder. I have it since November 2009.
The motorcycle is 2003 but problem is that his ex-owner didn't care for it at all. /He drove it with a front tyre DOT 2001 and didn't change it till 2009?! for example/
All metal parts have a lot of rust, its fuel tank has big hollow, the rear fender is broken...
I would like to return the motorcycle view, want to customise it...but I am beginner, have big wishes but any experience ..and need of your advices, friends...
thank you :)

Vellcommin to the board! First thing to remember that the Dealers will work on tenyear and fiver year old bikes, Parts will be harder to get after that as well, so going the custom rout is a good thing, forget all the factory bolt on stuff, As far as custom things, you are going to have to make them your self, there are some realy tallented people who make the Alt brands into some cool bikes, If you have any ? about this subject, just ask, and I will help as best as I can........Roach.
Hi Velina, i have a buddy that owns a 2003 Marauder & we did a lot of work to it.Here is a picture of it when we were putting a jockey shift on it.These bikes have a lot potential & i wanted to show you what can be done to those bikes.A lot of these parts are bolt on & should'nt be to much of a problem.Good luck..any questions just holler.

At first Happy New year :)

it looks great, I thought to colour my fuel tank, fenders and hood in black mat paint and now/ thanks of your photos/ I see that it will look great.
About exhaust, pipes etc..I didn't know what to do..two days ago I stayed after midnight and burnished them but there still are small spots of rust and scratches and parts can not be chroma-plate
now I think about black paint to cover them but I don't know what kind of paint to use / it has to be steady of temperature / for example

what did you bind your pipes with? and why?
Hey your bike has alot of potential just bobb it out ge rid of all the extras front fender glass shield marker signal lights rear shocks lower it with some rigid struts it will look killer you can even kut the rear fender and then paint it flatt matte black..
Hello
After a lot of work. Burnishing till midnight ..all metal parts look better.
The big hollow of the fuel tank disappear. Friend of mine filled it.
Motorcycle is painted with black pearl paint.
E, still exist some things to repair. It needs of time and money. But step by step all will be ready.
Now I think to put roll bars. Still no idea what kind to be.
I am open for ideas. If you have any..give them to me.
